For many years, but more intensively since 2009, AESTUS has actively promoted economic and trade relations between China, Europe and Africa with particular emphasis on infrastructure projects such as:

- Large industrial plants
- Upgrading of roads
- Power plants (to provide electricity 'to rural areas)
- Prefabricated homes for people with a minimum income
- Hospitals
- Wind farms and other alternative and renewable sources of power

These projects are implemented with the support of the Chinese government through export credit and loans, and 'trade off' and institutions or through international tenders.
